Thought, tips, advice

Wow that realy grows fast !
I like it nice pot too!

Cheers i appreciate it. I havent seen them used often as bonsai nor have i seen much information onlime so i am playing guess work a little in terms of how to train it.

The soil mix is equal parts pumice, pine bark, scoria, perlite, course river sand and potting mix.

I don't know much about these. Never grew one. I would be tempted to put it in a larger pot or the ground to get it to do major back budding. Because I would think there's better branch placement possible. But I have not grown one, so I don't know how feasible this is or if getting major back budding opportunity has sailed.

I havent cut this back in years however My understanding is that they do back bud a lot.

My plan was to hit it hard this season and see what happens then adjust next year if need be.
