I picked up a 3 gallon Quercus virginiana for $5 today with some nice character at the base.
Trying to figure out whether I should chop now to incite backbuddimg closer to the base feature or let it grow out and fatten up. The soil is pretty old and compacted, a repot is in order as well. What do you all think? Also, yes, that natural uro does hold water.
