Hello!
This is almost like my first thread here, I've been more of a reader than a poster, but here we go!

I've been growing this maple for like 4 years or so, and this year, it woke up quite early, as we just got into spring here, and it already full leafed, and very strong.
I didn't even fertilized it yet and you can se huge internodes, as it was allowed to grow, and it's in full sun.
I did not repot it this year, because I was to propagate it, make some airlayerings, so I can restart the main tree.

I might make a progression threat for it, but the point here is:

Can I make one air-layer already, as it is early?
Spring cuttings, is it too early?
Maple Air-layer: Spring vs. Summer?

What you ppl think?

PS.: Yes, I'm already using my Christmas mug.
Thanks!

you can air-layer just as it wakes up and feed a PK booster, hold on Nitrogen, water sparingly. Ive found these to help

im no expert on cuttings but you could wait until the new growth has hardened a bit, it seems to translate to more rooting success.

Cuttings may work from the present stage until late summer (your climate). The only question is how your success rate will look, depending on many factors (cultivar suitability for rooting from cuttings, rooting media, hormone used, and the condition of storing the cuttings, etc.). It could be anything from 0% to 90%.
