My Old Man Treatise

Hi there @DeanoAZ and welcome!! You should come by the Phoenix Bonsai Society. my bnut partner in crime @AZbonsai should be there as well. We meet north Phoenix and the club has been integral into helping me acquire quality stock and trees without blowing a lot of money.

For me, Chinese elm seedlings grow quite fast enough (2 years and you have a tree) then I also use olives a lot and love them. That said I also grow boxwood, Hornbeam, Ficus

All the best, please reach out if I can be of any help

Well, I'm not a stranger at the PBS. I was a member about 5 years ago and even became the librarian. I attended a workshop at Carol's house on kusamono, went on a dig at a nursery going out of business and helped with a lot of the activities. Jim McKeon was the president then. I live in Peoria and back and forth driving to meetings got to be a drag. Plus a few medical things got into the way of my bonsai. I did bonsai back in Oregon when we lived there back in the '90's and I started it up again when we moved here in 2002; but I had to stop it until I started it up again this past year. I appreciate your offer of help.

Walter Pall is about 74 years old and still going strong. Even still going around the world doing demos and workshops and such.
