I had pretty bad case of needle cast on my Japanese black pines last year. In researching, some advocate spraying every 2-3 weeks. Others say to spray around the time the "fungus fruiting bodies start to emit fungus particles". I want to treat for needle cast, but avoid spraying if it is not effective. I am looking for some solid information on the timing and frequency to treat needle cast fungus in Georgia. I have copper fungicide and Daconil to use when its time to spray.

Also, am I correct that needles infected last year will not recover even with treatment? Am I treating "new" needles to prevent the "old, infected" needles from passing on the fungus?

Thanks for the help

Frank
