Not only did you keep it alive it's healthy!!! NICE!!!

I'm not from AZ but my sense you can cut this back now if you want. With cooler temps coming soon the tree will have another nice grow period like you said.

Try cutting one back give it like 2 or 3 days see if you have new buds, then if it does, cut back the rest of them.......

Least that is how I would approach it.

Maybe others from AZ can give some advice with experience?

@StoneCloud Never get tired of 'em for sure. Just found this one in the local nurserys back forty....forgotten and full of spiders. $150 original price talked them down to 60 out the door. Had a little brother in there as well...may have to go back when the B team is at the nursery.

Bought it in December

Prune and repot on Feb 6th. I removed 95% of the root mass. Fertilizer from the start as well.

And here is the tree today. Took about 2 weeks but it's pushing new growth everywhere. Beautiful !
