You are a potter too? These look pretty good well done. Do you have examples of any others you have created?

Yes Tom, I also make pots.

Just scroll down through the other threads in this section and you will find more examples of my work.

Thanks for the kind words.

Any newer pots to show?

Libby

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do Libby.

Here are a few that came out of the last firing.

This first one is a rectangular pot

The next two are ovals.

And here are two round ones.

Hello Si,

You have a good eye.

The third pot you commented on is finished in a Tea Dust glaze which is one of my favorites.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Regards,
Paul

I especially like the last one. That glaze on the white body is beautiful.

Thanks Libby, I appreciate the compliment.

I like that particular combination also. The pot is made from a porcelain clay body and is finished with one of my ash glazes.

Paul

Very nice work on this last batch, like works of art by themselves. I could set #3 on my desk and look at it all day.

Love those ovals. I took a quick look at your website, but don't see any online store... Do you sell pots online at all?

Hello Stan,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my work. I appreciate the kind words.

The particular pot you commented on is made from a brown stoneware clay body and is finished in one of my Oribe glazes. I like this Oribe glaze very much myself.

Regards,
Paul

Beautiful as always. The last pot : is it glazed or burnished stoneware?

Hello snobird,

The pot you asked about is made from a brown stoneware clay body and finished with an engobe.

An engobe is basically a slip that is applied to the surface of the pot just like a glaze.

Here is a link that helps explain this a bit better: http://ceramicartsdaily.org/ceramic...r-demystifies-three-common-pottery-materials/

I appreciate the compliment.

Cheers,
Paul
