Do you know anything about the roots? The part on to of the substrate is it trunk or part of the roots?
It is tall, slender and straight. You could go Literati. Seems link a young trunk that you can still ply in pretty much every shape. Alternative is to aim for a.much much shorter tree. You could consider slowly reducing to the first green at soil level, IF what is on the soil is trunk and the roots are burried.
I would wait till winter. Pull from tje container and determine where the main roots are, build a plan from there.
For next time, try to select trees where you have a vision, or which has several characteristics for bonsai. An unsuitable cheap tree is still too expensive?
