Hi all

I have a Beuvronensis Scott's pine, in Wales, UK.

This year for some reason not all the branches developed buds. There has been alot of growth around the tree. I did lose two branches that are shaded out by other as well.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

If you broke off the candles as they were developing, sometimes they will not form next year’s buds at the tip. They can form adventitious buds further back, or if they’re weak, they will just be blind branches that will eventually die. Tree doesn’t look unhealthy however.

Thank you, I thought it was looking ok but have started to question it because of the buds.

I have knocked that many off as there is a lot. I have been trying to trim the buds back to the point the new growth start in September to force back budding. The first year I did it I had no issues at all. If it could be related to that, this would be the result of the second time I have done that.
