Post Your Weeping Tree

🤔 I was told by a few never to have too-little branches go below the horizon level ,branches will die.
How long has this tree been a weeping style? I like it...I only worry about the branches weeping if what I was told...is true.

It's been weeping for maybe 3 hours and nothing has died yet. 'Too Little' do not naturally weep, you have to force them down. I have many and they grow like everything else, straight for the sky.

Tamarix, on the other hand die all the way back to the base of stems that bloom (in my yard, unknown on bonsai).

Adam Lavigne had me lift a branch that was barely down. For fear my too-little branch would die back. Nothing weeping dramatic either. Let me find the thread in the ficus group and copy the photo and his words.

Collected this Tamarix after an arctic spell from our yard. Thrived for years with no issue. Now it's in a controlled cold greenhouse and not compromised by temps to harsh.

@Cadillactaste That's a cracking Ryusen maple!! Love to have that one!

@Paulpash Wonderful birch! How was that one created?

Here is my only weeping bonsai in the garden thus far. Bald cypress only in it's third year as a bonsai.

Love where you have taken that Bald Cypress!

Thank you Sergio on the comment for that weeping Ryusen. Again an honor from one I respect so...

A tree for years I never took seriously, never counted as part of my collection. Just one I saved in the yard. So thank you. I need a proper pot. My commission pot never came about.

Hi @MACH5 . I grow almost everything from scratch in the ground. After 30 years I have a little cycle now that means I get new stuff to work on every year or two.

This one was one of the many Birch seedlings I weed out every year. It was grown in my beds and has just finished its 3rd year in development. It will hopefully go in a pot, roots willing, next time I repot.

Good work on your Weeping Bald Cypress.

I really like where you're taking this one. Do you have a pic of it leafed out. It looks so much like a weeping willow.

Has anyone tried out japanese weeping cherry? My neighbors have a nice tree next door (white flowered) and told me I can take as many cuttings as I would like. I have a pink flowed one in my front yard. Anyone have experience with them. I plan on taking at leat 50 cuttings next summer.

I wish you the best...but wanted to share the warning I got. It's cool weeping for sure.
Ek! After 2 weeks, things looking pretty grim. No turning back from here. There are some tips showing bud growth. We shall learn something.
