But....since it is a bit 2D...
And that low branch has a lot and close foliage...
My long game might look like this...
Cutting 1 next late winter if all is healthy...
And then next year (or when healthy enough) cut 2 off...then 3 next year...so on..

Until all that is left is the top apex, which was allowed to run wild...
And your new tree....which you have been nurturing the low and close foliage on.
Then either whack the top entirely...
Or take it back slow if your little final tree isn't ready to be solo.
Since the top was allowed to run wild, and you will be training the "final tree"...the top will probly have much more foliage...
Which means whacking it all at once may kill it...but you'll know by then.
May have to assigns it's branches numbers
For removal years then too.
Just remember long game is long..
Until it starts producing results, then youre like ....Damn...8 years passed!?
This is a great situation to be in...
Most of these that get "the treatment" aren't left with such a nice healthy low.."plan B" branch...
Plan B branches are the best!
If you don't end up needing em...they thicken the base of your initial idea, and provide health/energy.
If you 2D'd your initial idea! Ahem....
You can still make a wicked dope tree.
FYI too...
These are easily the MOST DIFFICULT trees to source from nurseries.
They're Decieving...all seem good so they are attractive.
But out of 100...maybe 10 will have a good basal flare. (Set aside)
5 will have an acceptable rootage coming from the flare. (Set aside)
2 of those will have something useable as far as new leaders you can use to make good taper transitions...
And one of those will have useable branching.
Lotta work to find 1.
Or...you grab anything and go long game with one plan B branch!
