posting a few pictures of a dead trunk premna under development. the pictures are essentially the same with small adjustments to the iso and brightness settings

Cool looking dead wood, I think it would look great when finished if you let the tree grow taller allowing the outside facing foliage to grow dense, giving it the appearance of a twin trunk tree that had one of its trunks die back.

the plan is to style a kengai tree with deep sweeping branches hanging over the abyss.

Sam, have you used a preservative on the dead wood, or is it a photo thing, it; looks a bit glossy??

hello bill

I'd just re-oiled the trunk before the picture. by now the wood has absorbed the oil and the trunk retains the beautiful color without the shine.
