Can anyone with this variety show me the leaf of the tree? I have one that's labeled "prunus mume matsubara red"..the leaf does not look like a prunus mume...color is off.

Thanks

Mine was promptly destroyed by animals after I put it in the ground, rivers Edge has some tho

That is not prunus mume. Mume flowers don't have peduncles they bloom right on the branches. Also 'Matsubara red' is not pink, but closer to magenta. The fragrance in unmistakable.

My best guess would be your pic in some species of a flowering cherry. Any fruit produced would be the last key to determine what it is.
