Last year I thought I'd start a few Pseudocydonia Sinensis from seeds that I sourced online. Here is the biggest one I got in its second year of growing.

The weather here is already way too hot and sunny, even though it is in the spot with the most shade, it is already getting sunburn in some leaves, but it has not stopped it from growing.

The branching I believe is result from a chop that I did on it last year in the early summer.

This year, I repotted it nearly 4 months ago, and last week I trimmed everything back because the branches were almost like whips.

You didn’t share your location, but here, Chinese quince handles full sun very well, and your leaf issues look like the soil dried out on you.

I live in Greece where we already have days of 30oC+ for a while now. Yes I did have an instance 2 weeks ago when my trees dried out, so I guess you could be right!
