Preparing for fall/winter, would much rather leave my trees outside if it could work. It does get cold in Bayonne, NJ and I do have grow lights but after my first summer in full sun with all the growth I'm wondering if a greenhouse would be better for my ficus' and other tropicals. Do desert rose need to go dormant also? Any recommendations I'd appreciate.

Hello! I am near DC (zone 7) also and last year I built. greenhouse for my tropicals and I am so glad that I did. I have a lot of tropicals ( ficus, desmodium, water jasmine, premna, parrot's beak, bougies etc...) beats the hell out of bringin them inside in the winter. During the day it stays pretty warm from the sun but I installed a split unit AC/heat system that keep them about 50 at night. All my bougies were flowering in February in the greenhouse and you can tell all the trees were a lot healthier in the greenhouse vs inside the house. Hope this helps.
