Repotting Chinese Elm

Hi, I was wondering if it is bad to repot a chinese elm right after they start to leaf out. I live in SoCal, and our spring usually starts around mid to the end of Feb. I think I might have just missed the repotting time for my location. the treat is healthy and maybe about 5 years old. The trunk is about an inch thick.

You should be still good to repot a Chinese Elm in SoCal right now. It is still an ideal time if the tree is just starting to leaf out.

In more tropical parts of Australia where they don't actually have winter the Chinese elms never lose leaves and are always growing. They still grow and repot Chinese elm. They have discovered that Chinese elm can be root pruned and repotted any time of years without harming the tree so don't be concerned about missing the traditional repotting time for Chinese elms.
