Scoops

I was working in my shop yesterday and after a quick glance at these old cartridges on my shelf, I thought they might make some decent small soil scoops. I forget where I got them but they have a nice heft at the bottom that keeps them standing upright. Nothing fancy but it was a fun 15 minute project. Original cartridge in the middle. Looking forward to using these come spring.

Those look cool. It's hard for me to get a sense of scale though, even with the Zippo laying there.

I really like this idea, but I need something about the same general diameter as a soda can...

LOl, just the fact that you have some old mortar shell casings laying around will probably land you on some government watch list ...
