Here's a dumb question. If I take seeds off of a Japanese Maple, could they germinate? Or should I wait until they fall to the ground first? Thanks for any answers!

October is usually the best month to collect your Acer palmatum seed. You either pick the seed off the tree at that time or wait until the leaves drop.

They won't likely do anything if picked now. Wait till the fall when they start to turn brown.
