loving these Facebook sales sites! I generally use $0.99 Bonsai because I mostly sell small starts and cuttings and a bunch of really inexpensive tools... Check me out on there!

I hope it is ok if I lump the tools in here instead of creating a separate thread in the "bonsai related" sales thread...

First some cuttings and small stuff:

** AGAIN, JUST TO CLARIFY, YOU MUST BID ON THE TREES AT THE FB AUCTION!** Thanks!

This is a set of cheap Chinese shears- they are sharp as Hell though! No, there are not Masakuni. They are Chinese made cheap little shears but they work well for leaf prunning, detail work, he'll man I used them to cut wrapping paper this Christmas and opened one of those annoying plastic packages that take a freaking chainsaw to get in! They are sharp, they are only $6 for you guys and $2.50 shipping anywhere in the US! I START the auction at $5 for these on FB, and have had them bid up as high as $9-10 before, so $6 seems fair. That is $8.50 total, delivered to your door. PM me if interested!

Did I mention brand new still in the package?
I will try to post a few more tools people might like... Cheap stuff, but you might be surprised by the quality and usefulness of some of the things I have!

*Please, if you don't like FB, don't drag the thread down into your pit of paranoia and hermit-like despair. I get it- some people think it is evil and will steal their soul or something, I am not trying to argue about it- just want to advertise a few trees I am selling there*

Thanks for looking!

Cannot even describe how cool these are! Bent nose needle nose pliers, small but I have used them for everything from wiring to ripping bark when creating a Jin to.. Grabbing bolts from a tight spot when fixing my truck. $5 for you guys BIN, $2 shipping $7 to your door!image.jpegimage.jpeg

Oh, and pay pal please!! I am trying to use it to keep money separate and it is just so much quicker than waiting on a check then mailing the item a week later...

I forgot to post a pic of the biggest tree I am offering for sale this week- a big OLD Sasuki... Basically this is a ground layer off the Beni from my chopped Azaleas thread... I think that larger one is probably 50 years old if I had to guess... It takes DECADES to get that kind of size on an azalea... This one maybe 20-30 years of growth? Just a guess... Obviously we never know for sure...

I left it long and as a multi- trunk because that is how it came out and I didn't want to stress it any more than I already had by chopping it down from 4 feet + to this height, separating it from it's parent plant and removing 95% of it's foliage. Well... All that was done this Spri, the tree grew like gangbusters and is really well established in it's pot now, popping flower buds all over!

No, it ain't show ready today. Needs another couple years of growth, some wire... You guys can all see that, but this is a promising piece of azalea starter stock and a lot of tree for the price IMO. It might not jump to $80 in three bids like a nice Hornbeam did on this site today... But I feel confident it will sell.
Thanks for looking! Go check out that chopped azalea thread if you want to see the blooms.. I really like the way this one looks!

Gotta sell what sells! There is no profit to be made on the $100 tools shipped in from Japan- you gotta pay full retail to get them. Not that many people have a HF close to their home.. You'd be surprised how popular these are! The pliers really are handy... The long edge of the bend can grab more bark than regular Jin pliers. I was amazed how well they work! Way better than "specialty" bonsai pliers that cost... Hell.. As much as you want to pay! $30, $50, $100 bucks? I also prefer a regular old small adjustable plier for taking off bark- you can grab the branch and ring it, removing all the bark around it in one turn.. But everyone already has a pair of those. These bent needle nose are all of a sudden one of the best tools in my box. Got some great tweezers too!

I have a Facebook account that I used for finding people to pay their college loans!

I DID steal some of their souls!

Can we argue about HF tools!

Just kidding!

How long do you think this thread is gonna last anyway?
You'll have that stuff sold by F.a.c....

I hope to update it as O add more to the page.. 2/4 trees already have bids and I have multiples of most tools, so this can last a while! :)

JFTR- regarding the tools.. I mark them up maybe a dollar or two, but I don't make much out of that... To break down the time I spend buying, taking pics, posting them for sale, getting shipping quotes, verifying payments, packaging for ship.... I am maybe knocking down $.50 an HOUR for my labor. I actually enjoy selling them and offering useful Bonsai stuff to people for crazy cheap prices compared to what you pay online or at most Bknsai stores... I make my money on the trees and that is what I wanted to focus on with this post... Just thought some people here might like some inexpensive starts...

Wow! That is a screaming deal... I am not a member of the inside track club. You have to pay like $30 a year or something. I am not doing that. I refuse too pay for just about any sort of discount program like that. Unless I was buying like air compressors and machine engines from them, it just wouldn't be worth it.
I have bought two of the tools from that add so far - one sale- and it cost me almost as much for two of them as they are charging for all six in this add. Crazy deal! Thanks for chopping my legs out there stick root! Still, only one maybe two of the tools in that group are really useful for what we do. The rest would be good perhaps for... Fixing cars? Maybe?
So... If you want to pay $29.95 + $5.99 to get two useful cheap tools... And you happen to have a HF close bye... Then like I said- SCREAMING DEAL right there! Wait... At $37+ tax (and/ or shipping?)... Maybe not so much? Failed to read the fine print I guess! Happens to us all.

Why am I surprised that on a "Bonsai" forum, I have posted 4 pics of trees, two pics of tools and yet the trees have been wholesale ignored and almost every comment thus far was about the TOOLS?

Does that not seem odd to anyone else? I am really starting to believe what people were saying in Smoke's thread- people don't come here to talk about trees at all do they?

Perhaps I should start calling people names an demanding moderation- this thread would take off! LOL

Well I got a Pyracantha from you which is hereimage.jpegimage.jpeg it never did anything but wilt, and by the look of these roots, well I don't know. I will find one someday.

And for the inside track, I bought 4 of those trailer kits at one time and they offered it for free.

You bought that pyracantha from Erick on 99 cent bonsai and it had no roots? Is that what's happening here?

That is sad man. You could have just PMed me and I'd have happily replaced it. It was growing when I sent it and did have roots. I can only imagine it was damaged in shipping and it ripped the roots off- It was still a little fresh. Wasn't that the box I sent you that looked like a horse stepped on it when it arrived? I don't understand why this is how you decided to bring this to my attention. I didn't make any public comments about the mix ups you had in sending the pots we agreed on... Seems like a pretty foul way to handle it. I have shipped trees all over the country, have multiple repeat buyers and none reported any problems comparable to this. I have probably 4-5 cuttings left from that same batch, that were comparably rooted and none have wilted under my care...

Nope, this was part of a multi tree trade we did in the seedling swap thread.. Which I started BTW in an attempt to get some experience shipping trees prior to ever selling any!- I believe I sent a large JM air layer as well.. As 2-3 other trees? An azalea and Shimp maybe?

Like I said above, it is sad to see him throw it out there like that. Plants die sometimes, but if it was killed in shipping or died immediately for any reason right after being sent- whether part of a swap or part of a sale on FB the responsibility is on the seller/ sender to make it right. I'd have happily done so... Had he only sent me a PM.

Happy to still do it now... Just saying can't fix it if I don't know it's broken.

I'm not trying to make you unhappy. I did send you a pm telling you it had no roots. I am not upset and I made the pot thing more than right.

I'm not trying too say Eric has bad stuff. The cutting probably would have been fine if Ace Vetura hadn't kicked it down the street and the other three trees are doing good and I am happy with.
