Hi lads finally managed to put my hands on a juniper chinensis. I am a novice in bonsai so dont know how to start or if i even need to do styling now of this tree. The seller sayed it is a shimpaku imported from korea 8-9 years old. For now i keep it outside and try to learn the watering rootine. What would be the best course of action?

Nice little tree.
For now,
keep it outside and try to learn the watering rootine
In early spring, do a workshop and together with someone work on styling it.
I would not go at it alone if this is your first tree. This is pretty good material, better than "a practice tree"

Yup outdoors, and if the water is passing through the soil good, without ponding come Spring,
you're good to learn how to thin the juniper. Don't remove interior growth that could be useful
to the design when you do.

If you edit your account details to include your general location in this world and USDA grow zone,
it will allow responses to detail a timeline better. It is healthy enough for whatever
single insult your care to endeavour upon next year.

Is the foliage that blue or just your camera? Really healthy looking foliage :)

Nice starter material! I don't see anything that can't handle London weather. I hope you don't mind my asking... how much gardening experience do you have? Have you kept plants / trees in the past? Or is this your first foray?

I have a garden for 4 years, but wasnt so involved in it. I bought my first tree this summer and it all began. The ficus is dooing fine, and i learned a lot from it. Now i want to try something more andvenced and bougth an acer, a zelkova, a shimpaku and a pyrochanta
