Thanks to Google Street View's option to go back and see the same spot from years ago, we have the chance to see this tree progress from almost the beginning of it's existence until I collected it last Wednesday.Screenshot_20250906_122717_Maps.jpg 2007- Right next to the red bush under the Stop sign is a brownish shrub. Behind the brownish bush is a tiny seedling you can't even see yet.
Screenshot_20250906_122630_Maps.jpg 2012- You can see some lighter green leaves poking above the green shrub and the taller tree to the right. Screenshot_20250906_164538_Maps.jpgIn 2016 the taller tree was cut back to a trunk and you can see a green ball of leaves next to the fence from this angle
Screenshot_20250906_122918_Maps.jpg 2023- Probably cut back hard sometime earlier that year, it still survived the removal of those other shrubs. You can see the trunk under the yellow sign on the fence.

~Sept. 2025~
I was walking by last week and noticed that it had been chopped back to this stump. I talked to the guy and he said he was planning on cutting it flat to the ground and hoping it would die. I offered to dig it out for him instead...

I've edited the original post a little. There are two elm trees there and i wanted to make sure I was documenting the right one. I will add more to the story later showing how it is potted and cleaned up. It's pretty nice.
