Small Crape Myrtle first styling

I picked up this 24” tall CM from a local nursery and re-potted in good medium about 10 days ago. It recovered just fine so I cut it back and wired it tonight. Cut it down to about 10” tall.

Not sure of the cultivar yet. I did take cuttings and have them set up to root. Thanks for any comments.

The 3 woody cuttings rooted in about 15 days and are throwing off nice aerial roots now. I think they’ll make nice small trees.

Love em, cut the daughter down next year to remove the straight section. Super appically dominate. Cut the top half of shoots next season every time they reach 4 or 5 leaf pair and you'll have a fabulous start to some ramification. Reminds me a should start a thread... have fun with yours

I’m liking the direction that one of the cuttings is taking a bit better than the mother plant however. I think the exposed root style is working for this one.
