So I've heard that bosnian pines are not good candidates for bonsai.

And if so, why is this? Does anyone have experience with them? I just got a Bosnian Pine (Pinus leucodermis) 'compact gem'. It's planted in one of those cloth root pots. It appears like it already has good movement. I know I shouldn't do any cutting until spring. It's a graft, though I'm not sure what rootstock it's on.

The main reason is they all seem to be grafted. I've often seen them in nurseries, gotten excited by a trunk only to discover a hideous, high graft.
