1 & 2: old juniperd (parsonii maybe? ) . HBR and into grow box this spring..

3: yew, great dead wood. cut it back hard in spring , bare root and re pot in grow pot

4: boxwood, unreal nebari! under the mulch is even more greatness.. plan is to chop this bad boy back to maybe that first branch or even below and let it grow out. Early spring is the right time for such carnage? bare root and repot.

5: podocarpus: great dead wood, twisted trunk. Don't know much about these -- apparently they have live veins similar to a juniper. Plan is to get in a grow box this spring. Probably HBR is in order?

6: fatty trident. right truck will go away this spring and a new leader will be chosen on the new main trunk and another big chop when that happens. bare root and repot.

7: privet with really cool base. Hard chop to just above that fat base come spring. Think it will survive? of yeah and bare root and repot : )

8: my garden lookin a little full.. Oh and dont worry those bald cypress will meet my chain saw this spring too!

What a chore keeping all of these babies watered!

It seems the junipers still want a good bit of water through winter, whereas the podocarpus probably will do best with much less.

I havnt watered anything in at least 6 weeks

Going to be a bussy spring!
Nice material after chopping everything down and repotting you have to leave them be for at least the rest of the season!

Wish I could find a trident like that.. Your spring looks like it will be as action packed as mine :p

How much are you comfortable spending?
Check out laosgarden in Madrid, some of their tridents are very enticing for around 100 euro I have yet to see better value.
May even pick one up myself at some point.

Cheers for the pointer. Aye look good for the asking price. Spent out tree wise for a bit. Bought a prunus and a scots last week :)

This spring will mostly be focused on getting things into good soil. I wonder if I can do some preliminary hard chops (leaving stubs of course for future jin) on the junipers at the same time...
