Repotting in spring as near everything we read says is right. Has been wrong for me.
Summer 2017 saw the successful repot of Spruce, Juniper, Barberry, Boxwood and Elm in leaf, (the elm was Frary's but it is applied), and Mugo of course!

I urge you to find you're ONE or MANY things, that has been keeping you from witnessing success.

I'm putting things in pots this year...



And with the KEY, to unlock the freedom, to DO all the stuff I KNOW will work.......

I started bonsai with my OG ficus, from which this is a cutting, in 2011?

And this pairing has been waiting for three years. Dec. 2014...

I put a couple in pots for practice....

Ahhhhhhh.....putting trees in pots. A challenge for me. The upcoming spring may be the first time that ground growing trunks are ready to collect. However, I think they will get wooden-boxed first for at least one season if not more. Pots...yup...someday. Maybe just not yet.
