yesterday i spent some time with this
taxus media hilli the foliage is different from the baccata it is more compact and the needles grow in pairs instead of 1 needle on each side of the branch wich is great imo

First idea was to only work with the left side and make Jin out of the rest and carve the deadwood to improve the taper

for now ill Let it Be like this and decide what to do when i repot the tree in spring

when i look at the before picture its kinda bald now

the trunk splitted up into 5 branches and i didnt think to be able to create a broom style taxus so this is what i came up with! I have to be honest. I like the image you're working toward but I think you may have over worked it. Maybe you have experience with this species and it can take the work you've done but normally you reduce in steps. Hopefully, it will make it.

Definitely a lot of work....
But I know Taxus are very strong.
Might not want to touch it again for a year or 2, it'll need time to recover.
My guess is, you'll get a lot of back budding that you'll be able to use in the future.
That looks like the ones they sell here labeled as Upright Taxus, never seen any other names though....
Cool!

i have One wich i worked on Just about the same together with a repot and that One still lives so they are tough but time will tell:)

as after care i keep them in shade out of the wind and mist them daily three times and more in the weekend

the weather here is still warm and a other taxus i have is still making New growth so kinda hoping this One does too :)

Whoot, when how, eurhm. I mean, you will learn a lot from this plant :) Maybe try to only reduce it by 30% next time.
