To chop or not to chop?

Just for fun here are the trees a little after original collection. U can see the growth on the one is from all new buds. that popped this spring and that the growth on the other was already there. The one I was interested in chopping is actually the red one pictured to the right in one of the photos. I have maybe four more that are more or less similar in trunk size. these are the ones I wanted to chop again. They have been forming buds lower on the trunk lately.

RichKid,

If you have fertilized both trees the same, and they are getting the same water and sun exposure, then I can only guess that the one that is sulking had less roots or has grown less roots since collection. My only suggestions would be patience, keep doing what you are doing, or maybe moving the sulking one to a little more shade (afternoon shade or dappled light all day). It may be stressed a little by too much sun and heat. But, if you already have it in those sorts of conditions, then patience.

Regards,
Martin
