My daughter just gave me her Satsuki Azelea to save. She left town and person that was supposed to take care of it did not.
When I got it. The leaves are brittle and falls off. So far I keep it in the house on a window seal. I keep the soul moist and spritz it several times a day. I can see the root is green by a small scratch test. How can I save this plant?

You are probably doing the best. Keep the soil moist, but not soaking wet. Keep it out of direct sun. Mist the foliage as long as there is something there that isn't completely dead. You do not need to remove the foliage - it should drop off by itself if it is dead, and maybe some of the leaves that are just dry (and not dead) will recover. Hopefully the tree has a few interior leaves that made it, and/or has enough stored strength that it will be able to push some new bud growth.
