Too small?

Does this pot look too small? I think the pot I have it in is too big and I really like the way this pot matches the tree.

It’s hard to tell because the photos’ perspective distorts. What are the current and future pot OD?
If this is a ginkgo, know the roots are very strong growers, and while I have under potted mine, it did better with a bit more soil.

It is a ginkgo, the current pot is a 16" oval and the prospective pot is a 12 inch circle
