This is one of two Tridents i picked up for a good price, will likely sell them on.
just some tidying up, light pruning and a few bits of wire to position primary branches up n out, branch tips up for faster development.

these types of Tridents arent being produced as readily as a few years ago and becoming harder to obtain.im told the nursery where these came from in japan, didnt want to sell them.my supplier bought around 14 and now has 3 left from 2017.
the younger generation of japanese are not taking bonsai as seriously as the elders so soon not many folks will be producing these types of tridents.

he's an ugly old monster for sure, a face only a mother could love.
i like this one more than the one with better taper.

That pot seems a little tight? Any plans to up pot it?

yeh this would need a slightly bigger pot for the roots to spread out while in development.

I had these two small Trident maple that were a bit uninspiring as single trees

after seeing Peter chans recent video on planting two trunks together i had a few ideas for some of my own bits n bobs...
i thought these two could compliment each other quite well.this is probably as close as i could get them, it works though...the two trees are in such harmony its as if a man and wife are doin the dirty at the top of a hill...

It may just me being a noob, but I liked them better as separate trees. Just not quite right like this. But I could be wrong
