Masterpiece
Came across a Japanese Red Pine and Nana Juniper this weekend. The JRP I pruned shoots except two horizontal ones I wanted for overall direction of growth. I lightly needle plucked only 6-8 pairs in strong areas, but left the weak needles alone. Wired some , and used a guy wire with plastic covering on the branch to bend slightly ...In spring I’ll pinch , then cut candles in June till they harden off to shoot select again.
came across a Nana juniper, it already had deadwood which is awesome, I plied the excess away and will preserve it. For the styling I’ll repot in a tall pot and grow the cascade over the years to come for developing pads and length.., along with the apex I’ll develop that too.... Also restyled my small JWP and Spruce they’ll remain till spring in their pots..... the spruce was tricky it was in clay and rock so I took out some clay and rock and didn’t touch roots, then replanted in a good soil mix with mycorrhizae to grow more roots.....
Lastly I got this awesome Adler to add to my deciduous collection.
Shout out to Kospia Farms ,Edge of the Woods Nursery, and Bucks County Bonsai for wire/supplies. Using organic fertilizer on the rest of my trees, just sprinkling some at base once a week till end of October... Excited for spring repot and planning my overwintering setup.
