I've never been fond of Sweetest Day or Valentine's Day. I don't want a commercial holiday telling the one who is to care for me...they need to show me. I expect and turn around fair play as doing this when the mood strikes...not when the calendar date states to do so.

Social media is like...puke city with ones who get into the holiday. That...I feel like such a Scrooge. (If this is you...sorry no meaning to offend. It's just how I roll.)

Bah humbug!

I hate all the holidays for that reason.

If you love people.

Love em always!

I call it a Hallmark Holiday and Crystal has yearly said to me that the media is definitely geared to have men spend a lot on it making her a bit "put off".

Funny though, I do not spend a ton, but we both get each other something small but special, a card, and some goodies every year. The flora I get in addition I do for every holiday so it is nice but more of a habit then anything else that we both enjoy for a week at the dinner table.

Yeah, all the holidays seem to have lost their original meaning. I mean, when did you start having to give gifts on Halloween and Easter??? Give me a break. With that said, my mother did get a delivery from Sherries Berries today and my wife and mother in law got the card, flowers and chocolates... I'm not stupid!

Ahhh Dave...that is sweet! No gag reflex at all.

I like doing that kind of stuff but not when a calendar tells me to.

I knew from start. Any gals that is into bonsai is not going to care much about this sort of make believe days. Good for you.
Ordered some bonsai substrate the other day. Much better than some cheap box of heart-shaped box of chocolates!

I don't know, my hubby got me a tree for V-day. Better then chocolate or diamonds.
Nice Hubby!! Many years ago, I bought my wife some diamond earrings for Valentine's Day. Before V-Day arrived, she mentioned that she would love a Pug for Valentine's Day, even more then diamond earrings. February 13th at work (I'm a veterinarian), a Pug came through the local rescue group for vaccines.... I returned the earrings the next day;).

Definitely better than chocolate, not sure better than diamonds....;)

Okay, so not only did I get the deluxe mixed nuts, but also beef jerky! Which is actually thoughtful, because I watch my carbs. But what means much more to me is that he takes out the garbage, vacuums, and cleans the bathrooms, because he knows I hate doing those things. And not just one day a year. Now that's love :).
