. Also the scar on the left CAN close over. But you need to really remove the stump in order to do that. For this, a better carving bit is needed for your dremel.
Their native carving bits are too fine for the work we do. (Take a peek, I just now posted a video in my general thread so you can see how easily the wood can be removed:

Been allowing sacrifices to run for the past 4, 5 years or so to close die-back and fatten the base. Maybe it is time to start making it a bonsai.
