hey guys one of my azaleas has this weird color all year. Growing super healthy. Acting fine. What y'all think cause might be? Normally leaves are solid dark green. Now there veiny lime green. Idk.

Looks like chlorosis to me, a deficiency in iron, manganese, or another mineral. Pretty common for azaleas, which don't tolerate high alkaline conditions that lead to the inability of the plant to take up those minerals.

I've remedied minor cases of cholorosis with miracid fertilizer. Make sure your fertilizers have 'micronutrients', but correcting the alkalinity of the mix should be your main goal. Either through repotting or adjusting your irrigation water.

I used Fertilome's "Acidifier with Chelated Iron" for azalea and plants that need more acidic soil. Ironite is another alternative. I also foliar feed with liquid seaweed.

Cool. Thanks guys. I was think iron but I didn't know what it was called when they did this. I use pond water that's has a ph of 6.8 and a lot of natural waist. It was reported this year so I'm thinking I'm missing iron in it. All the other azaleas are super dark green. I'm going to go get some good ferts and start adding them tomorrow :)

You should also look up the alkalinity and hardness of your water, which should be reported if you are on a public water district. Although, I wouldn't expect those to be high since it is surface water with 6.8 Ph

This is koi pond water. I can test all that but last time I checked it was all pretty low.

Chelated Iron-the cheap stuff from the pharmacy section.
6 drops to the gallon/monthly through the growing season.
Still better to use micros any way. But when you just need
iron? go cheap; it is iron--rust water.
