Hey all! I was out of town for a week and upon my return I noticed these dark spots on my Bouganvillea bark. It has also been suffering from leaf curl. Any ideas on what’s going on? Also, it’s just inside over night because the temps were in the 40’s overnight.
I don't see an issue as described, but some of those leaves look tired and old. I sometimes call them resurrection plants because they can go through a snit and defoliate. But they come back with care. They grow like weeds in strong light with sufficient water and they are heavy feeders. Note that there are hundreds of cultivars from diminutive to monstrous, and in many many colors. I have several dwarf
Bougainvillea that are inside and blooming now under lights. I also have some outside. Whereas almost all my plants go outside in summer, I do break the rule with a few plants that are thriving inside. As to yours, in your climate, fertilize and water well in a very good draining mix and give in plenty of light. It looks like it needs repotting now, or it has recently been repotted. Your mix looks very coarse to me, and I know there are those who say they can't be wet, if mine were in a mix that looks like yours and I was not in a position to repot, I would water it at least once a day and fertilize frequently.
You have actually inspired me and I may do a bit of repotting today.
