This one my mom had growing in a 5 gallon plastic container and she said it just showed up...

The first one is an arborvitae. A close relative of the western red cedar.

Thanks guys. The arborvitae makes sense as there is a very elderly one nearby. And I was hoping the second one was a crab apple.
