What is the pot ?

I took this pot out of the garden and cleaned it up this morning. I bought this one through EBay about 8-9 years ago because I love its decoration. It has an excellent quality. I never found out by whom this pot was created. I also like to know what symbol means. Someone told me it was Chinese pot.
