It's a Chinese elm. Seigen if it matters.

Third the scale insect

What does an Ulmus parviflora 'seigen' look like? Never heard of this variety

I horribly mispelled... It's "Seiju." https://www.gardenia.net/plant/ulmus-parvifolia-seiju

Mine.

All I know is what I was told from the club member who sold me the cutting. It's a dwarf variety of Chinese Elm that is somewhat hard to find. Very small leaves. I plan to make cuttings out of most of the branches higher than five inches or so.

I haven't added it to my "Cornfed Edition" bench on the Nut here yet. I have several more to make threads on when I have time.

Sidenote: He also sold me a Kashima Maple cutting, that's the middle tree in the photo above.

No need to spray neem oil. Just remove it by hand or tweezers.

Do y’all find the dish soap water concoction to be effective?
It is what I use as first line of defence (Well, second, garlic poweder in the soil is nr 1).
If they break through I might use poison.

I mix a spoon of soap with a shot of alcohol in a litre (1/4 gallon) mister and soak the affected areas.
