Hi all, I’ve been absent from this site for awhile but I thought I would post a little thread about some fall Eastern White Cedar collecting. I have two recent collections. I am lucky enough to have an irrigation customer that happens to own land with an ancient bog on it.
First tree is interesting to me as it was growing sideways. It’s hard to describe but this tree was not growing on flat ground but sideways on a hump. I’m tempted to pin this to my bonsai fence in the future but a cool and different rock planting might work. Any other ideas?
The second tree is bigger than it looks and I find it interesting as it will require some lower branch grafting and quite a bit of carving to make a nice tree but I really think it has potential to be an incredible piece.
