White Pine Heat Damage

In hindsight, dead parrot sketch would've been waaay more appropriate here. He's PININ' for the FJORDS!:cool:


Last year he got better, this year, well he's an ex-pine.
 
It could be any number of things. Most people associate this problem with water, either too much or too little or timing of too much water too little water. It probably starts with a fungus. I have noticed a fungus that starts by making the growth to appear a little grey and the needles start to pucker. Captan seems to thwart it. This is one reason I have not been too aggressive about having five needle Pines in my collection. But it seems I have acquired a handle on the problem.
