Windswept olive bonsai yay or nay?

You know why windswept olive pictures don't exist?

Let's go over the perfect storm of events that must take place.

First, most of them aren't likely accessable by the average human.
That above average human would then have to have a camera.
They would also have to find one tree more photographic than the rest of the scenery provided by a place only accessable by above average humans.

Therefore....

I believe a windswept olive is a good idea.

I'll bet no one here has seen one outside of a grove.

For sure. There are Olives all over the world and if you look hard enough you can find a picture of one. There are probably windswept examples of virtually every single tree known to man. If the OP wants to style his tree as a windswept that is absolutely his prerogative. However, know that windswept style is VERY difficult to pull off in a convincing manner. bonsai experts will tell you this. And much like weeping style, you will constantly be fighting the tendency of the tree to grow up. It will require constant wiring to maintain the shape. That is just my two cents.

OP...... your Olive has the start of a really nice Windswept, some serious wiring and Pruning….Get rid of the branch on the right...this is a Boxwood almost the same as Olive....No matter what you do Some will Hate some will Love...
