Mugo Mops 1 of two # 2 to be posted later. Difficult cultivar to work with a bonsai from this material must be developed because normally it does not grow in ways amenable to bonsai. Everything must be considered and dealt with. I think this tree will be nice in a couple of years once the back budding become prominent. Both Mops were initially potted, and pruned last summer at our show circa August 2017. Ask Mike he will tell you this is not BS. DSC_0487.JPG DSC_0488.JPG

my loropetulum bit the dust in the freeze this year. I left both of them out as I thought they were hardy. So just the Ilex for me

My entry didn't fare as well as I'd hoped. I got too aggressive and snapped a few branches off. pruned it back to try and fix it. I think it needs a repot to correct the angle a bit. IMG_1814.JPG

Man I wish I made it into this category in time.... I suffered some serious vole damage this winter, and now have new growth popping low, developing key taper and now smaller and closer foliage and branching....

Didn't want to pay the Taxes on the huge prize anyway. LOL Hope all is well @defra as I know there are some things more important than Bonsai.
