Today I decided to make a post about the plant things I've been trying out, forgive me if my thoughts are jumbled! About a month or two ago I decided to invest in a grow tent to see what I could grow and what I couldn't grow inside of it. I'm using a mars hydro 600 W grow light with a mars hydro grow tent as well as their air ventilation system with a carbon filter. Overall it seems like the plants I've put in there are doing very well while keeping the light at a height of around 2 feet above the plants although I fear it could be too strong for them.
First on the list is my Wisteria. I planted about 30 seeds mixed between Purple Chinese Wisteria from CZ grain, White Chinese Wisteria, and Japanese Floribunda. I've had the most success with the Purple and White Chinese Wisteria. I keep two of my wisteria's in my grow tent and they are pictured below. One of them is planted in pure kanuma and the other is planted in 50% organic soil with 20% perlite and 30% sand. The plant in kanuma seems to be a little slow to the party however it did get severely burned when it was still small so I figured as much. As to why the leaves are slightly brown and slow growing I figure is because of the soil mix, or lack thereof.
~Thoughts??

The second wisteria in the sand mix has had a little yellowing of the edges of the leaves that hasn't gotten any worse since it started. I think it's mainly due to the soil being slightly boggy which could be fixed by transitioning to an akadama mix which I wanted to do in the first place but I lacked the materials to do it. Overall I have found these seeds to be fairly resilient little buggers inside of a grow tent as well as outside in partial sun. This one below has been growing for about two months now.

**UP NEXT we have the Cherry Blossom seeds I'm experimenting with:
Cherry Blossoms: Planted 10 seeds 2.5 months ago
- 4 germinated after 7 weeks
- 2 died
- 2 alive and well
Soil: 50% Akadama/50% Fox Farms Ocean Soil
Thoughts: I currently have the Two surviving Cherry Blossom tree's and it looks like the tips of the leaves are starting to get a little leaf burn to them.

This last picture is of the Cherry Blossom and Black Cherry Seeds I kept in the fridge for two months so updates to come!
The last little bit I want to talk about is my experiment ongoing with Cherry Plum and Bougainvillea Cuttings. I am very new to everything and even newer to growing cuttings, but after two weeks it's looking like they are just beginning to show signs of green growth. One of the bougainvilleas has a little bud coming out of the stem and so does the cherry plum. I'm going to wait until I see roots on the side of the water bottles before I make my next move on them. Thoughts on cuttings?

Last Question:
What is the best time of the year to get these seeds FRESH!:
Japanese Red and Trident Maple
Cherry tree seeds
Floribunda seeds
I really appreciate any and all of you who read through this post. I really enjoy growing these trees even if some aren't meant to grow where I live, but that's where I find the joy in things. Making the ungrowable grow. Any and all help is appreciated from you guys as I am very new to this. Started growing February 24th, 2021
