Wulfskaar's Tiny Sequoia Grove

I went ahead and repotted today into a bigger pot. Now it will have some room to stretch it's legs for a few years (with any luck).

I used this soil. I feel like maybe I should have added more organic material to it first. 🤷‍♂️

The longer branches all kind of dried up. It was probably too weak and damaged for the repot, in hindsight. Also, the soil particle size is probably way too big for those tiny roots, so it think it was drying out too fast. It was fading slowly.

Added a light sprinkle of compost and watered that in. I also recently had some leftover sphagnum moss, so I put that around the base to trap moisture in a little longer.

It's now back-budding, so I have hope it can survive.

I think you have a survivor there, I'm sure it will get stronger!

The top segment was totally dead, so u removed it. The new growth is still coming in, but slowly. It's also a very light shade of green, so I'm not sure if it's lacking something.

Still have my fingers crossed it can recover.

The green shoots look nice and healthy. The green darkens with age.

I found that my Giganteums do not particularly like getting wet. I water from below in the tray and now and then water the foliage at dusk (never in the sun). Your brown looks like sunburn to me, are you misting it?
I cut off the brown as far as possibly too. The growing season starts here in the UK in April till September. Foliage growth stops in July and thats when the trunk grows.
Its a shame you are so far away I still have 15 of the pesky things and would of given you a couple futher along. All mine were planted at the the same time from seed.
