Unbelievable asking price for those. He is local to me and supposedly here in Austin as well.

If those sell...I will post some of mine!!! LOL :p

I felt this way about the ponderosas! If they sell for their asking price, I am going to be itching to sell the ones I have. I sold an Engelmann spruce over the summer on ebay. I sold it for a nice price on my end, and im sure the buyer felt like he got a steal. 2.5" trunk with nice taper and awesome movement for $220. There are some nice pieces for sale on ebay on occasion. It seems like the bonsai classifieds group is gaining some momentum though.

If those sell I will join you in business venture and we will collect Texas cedar elm all day. Those are not even very nice specimens. I have an old twisty giant clump cedar elm that I paid half that much for. At his prices mine would be worth $5000. This is when I first got it. I have since done a lot of of aesthetic pruning this winter. Not pic yet though. Turned out nice with the right branches removed/pruned back. As you can see it the pic it had not been given much attention in recent years.

image.jpg. Sorry here is the pic the day I bought it. Found a larger tokonome pot. To put it in. It's stored it the garage right now where I can't get a good pic. Buds are about to burst so I will get one soon.

Can someone please chime in on this tree... I have seen it before, and I am curious what others think of it. Is it worth $5,400?

I get that it is a Japanese import, collected from the wild... Just wondering what others think of it...
That ugly duckling has been on and off eBay for years; at least 6. I thought it was crazy when it was listed at $4500...then they jacked it up another $900. I don't get it, but I also believe that some material will never be a swan.
