I sense double standards in here. Remember the time you said "abortion" to a baby news thread? Saying we need a mod because we shit on each other is not fair. By saying that you shit on the rest too.

I respect you, and all of you, because you have so much more bonsai knowledge/experience than I do, which the pics you posted before show, but I can not and will not always agree with everyone on everything.
Here I am sharing my opinion, just like you do, Seth, and I honestly can not see why it makes me a bigot. Please let me know why. If you find the part where I am bashing gays because of their sexual preference, let me know, so I can apologise for it, for I got nothing against gays. As far as I can remember, I only bashed the 'using their sexpreferences to justify and defend their point' behaviour some of them show.

An observation of what happened in this thread. You're saying the reason you and everyone else ganged up on him was not because of his sexual orientation?

That is exactly my point. I ganged up on him because he used his sexpreferences to justify and defend his point.

You cannot use this definition from Wikpedia because it is wrong. It suggest that a bigot is anyone that disagrees with you. That is horse manure. I remember about thirty years ago when Coleman Young was mayor of Detroit, a time when there were still viable businesses in the city. Mayor Young was a racist according to my definition of a racist; someone who hates people from other races and it was quite obvious that Mayor Young was as close to hating white people as you could get without coming out and saying so. He defined racists as those who disagreed with him and because they were white and had the power they were racists for no other reason. Black people could not be racists because they had no power. All of this is rubish and Wikpedias definition of bigotry is wrong. Any way it is quite obvious you are going to keep hammering this until you get what you want. That brings up a question: WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO?

If you would try to read and understand what I wrote, there would be no need to call me either a bigot or untolerant.
I did not attack him because he mentions his sexual preference, or because his preferences/opinion differs from mine, but I attacked him because he used his sexual preference as a weapon to make sure people disagreeing with him would appear as bigots, and therefore preventing people to disagree with him. I'd rather voice my opinion and be called a bigot a thousand times than being silent and preventing being called a bigot.

Sadly...I found that shadowed what you shared of your grandfather...sounds like you got your passion fed at an early age by a man who loved bonsai. Not many can claim that. I'm glad you have that...as a foundation for bonsai. It is pretty cool...even when your hot and cold and I can't make you.

Is this an acceptable definition? What do I want you to do? Stop finding reasons to argue and flame everyone and their mother for any reason you deem fit. I don't think that will change unless you have a moderator standing by telling you to behave.

There is a vast difference between criticism and outright flaming. The majority of the time, people here misconstrue the two and just fight.

Thanks for explaining...I must admit I've not read everyone's post to this thread. To many rabbit holes. I've not read the comment your mentioning...not saying it's not there...but, I have not read everything. Just found your tagging one and your comment completely at opposite ends of the spectrum.

You should create a thread on your grandfather...one, I have fond memories of my own. Two,that he was into bonsai I find interesting...it explains a lot to your being so young and a curator of a facility that houses bonsai. Im assuming that your having your ears wet at an early age...helped you acquire such a position.

With all due respect, I am not sure this is true... He looks for his fair share of trouble and is as big of a problem here and has always been as anyone else. Folks might not like to admit this because they like what he does, but make no mistake he is not the innocent martyr that you are making him out to be.

See, I think a lot of the problems stem from thus notion... it is perfectly acceptable to be a dick if everyone likes and agrees with this person. Which was clearly pointed out on the other thread that I just had run in's with... someone can say something personal and it is an will always be the other persons fault.

Yeah agreed. We all need to take our fare share of responsibility, and aim to bring this place up to its full potential. Finger pointing is a waste of space here. We are ALL guilty in one form or the other !!!
We ALL need to realise our responsibility towards moderating ourselves. This place has been provided for us, and we need to respect first and foremost the owner, and others more, and STOP TAKING THIS PLACE FOR GRANTED !!!

The biggest loser really is bonsai !!!
