Arthur Joura, curator of the N.C. Arb's bonsai collection is always a good read (and more than a match for Walter Pall). His history of a collected Carolina hornbeam is one of the high points of this long (looooong thread) over on the IBC (Internet bonsai club). Skip to page 47 Jan. 8 post...or read the entire thing. It's one of the best things out there on the Internet about bonsai.

A fantastic, epic, Homer's Odyssey-like thread (only longer:D) that I've been following since the beginning. With that said, one of my favorite pictures in the entire thread is of Arthur holding his American hornbeam bonsai as he stands right next to sibling hornbeams planted along the main road in the arboretum. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

insider news says there maybe a new blog to subscribe to soon:)

I enjoyed that photo as well
Dedication, skill and a bit of youthful exuberance.
Most of the later posts made my eyes glaze over........
