Thought I'd make one of these threads (such a sheep 🐑) - many of my postings don't really deserve threads of their own tbh, so will be bunging stuff in here instead.

So i always get bored in the summer holidays, most teachers love them but I hate not being busy! So I thought I'd have a go at whipping up a freebie bench to pass the time and get rid of the butt shaped groove in my sofa...

So it's begun 😂 It's no looker that's for sure, but I just used what I had available and it's a start. Top needs a lick of varnish or something of the sort. Haven't attached the blocks together, feels pretty study without.

nice. puddingstone?

Looks like it could be but I'm unsure tbh, someone local was getting rid so I took it off their hands! Here's a close up if that helps.

It's quite easily chipped if knocked, so maybe glue would be a good idea?

Some of the bits I'm working on (mostly ignoring in the hope that in a million years they may be workable)

Potentilla - seems to be enjoying life in the ground. Has lovely orangey pink flowers
Fucshia - not the best angle as I didn't want to disrupt the bee going to town on it. Will likely not thicken adequately in a manageable time frame but we'll see
Crepe myrtle - butchered the chop on this, just chopped in the wrong places! But it's finally budding so ill worry about that later.
Crepe Myrtle seedling - from above plant, see if it survives the transplant (probsbly should have left it)
Willow cuttings - from my favourite childhood Park, just for fun
Berberis - find it weird that the cuts are yellow!
Spirea - this one got very dry in shipping, but is recovering well. Could do with some wiring
Corkscrew Hazel - quite disliked by many, but I think it's fun! Hoping that bark lasts a while
Hibiscus Rose of Sharon - lovely flowers, roots are a bit messy! In fact it's all a bit messy
Weigela - think it's quite an interesting shape. Leaves need reducing significantly!

A quick search proves this the first and only thread containing "Delve" in the title.

2 points!

Get in! Give the gal a medal 🥇

It's a great word, people should use it more

Edit - annoyed I missed the apostrophe in the title though, the kids have no hope.

Thanks very much! It is yes, it's got a long way to go but I like it. Very thrifty, love that
Thrifty ha. You calling me tight? You can take a girl out of Yorkshire but...

Just out of interest...where would you put the apostrophe Miss??

I was up there last week so the Yorkshire has been topped up, give it a week or so and it'll wear off to a bearable amount

See.. it’s THIS that fascinates me...

Similiar to if I said, “Because of Covid, my local gas stations look like Mequon.”

Now what I’m really saying is, “...like North Milwaukee.”

Which ALSO means NOTHING to those who’ve never been. 🤣.

What I REAAALLY mean is.. “Because of Covid, my local gas stations look like bulletproof glass enclosures one would see in a high-crime area.“

🤓🤓🤓🤓

Haha I'm very glad you explained that, I would have been clueless!

You would have an absolute field day on a tour of the UK 😂 Ever met a Geordie? They're A LOT of fun!

A few starter trees i'v been working on for the past couple of years..

I am planning on logging the progress of all my trees in their own threads but i'm still experimenting with picture sizes and resolutions so this is a bit of a dry run...Hope you don't mind me tinkering on your thread Corgan..

Any feedback welcome :)
