Repotted this beast of a BC, good thing I did cuz it had termites in the roots. First time iv'e seen anything like that, it was flooded most of the summer so I doubt it had termites then. Also potted up a trident maple forest and got 5 pillow style crawfish traps, crawfish are 12 buck a pound right now.bc beast 2.jpgbc beast 1.jpgbc beast 3.jpgtrydent forest.jpgPillow trap.jpg

Been busy the last 6 weeks constructing a space for a new venture but decided I want to showcase trees in there(revolving every 2-3 days) so figured I needed a cool stand. Unfortunately, couldn’t find anything that fits the dimensions I wanted so made one.

Great job! Looking forward to seeing this in action...

Got a little slate myself for a project;

My second repot of the year has been accomplished. This is a Acer that I acquired from @Dysfunctional Vet last year. I didn't originally plan on putting it into an anderson flat, but all of my plastic and terracotta pots were too small or way too deep (and I was feeling lazy) for my goals.

I want to grow out the trunk thicker and hopefully have the root system of the two trees grow more intertwined. They are touching closer to the root plane and are buried a little deeper to hopefully encourage some more roots to grow in that area as they both only had two main roots. I also gave a it a very light pruning to encourage some more branching and cleaned up the nubs. Lastly, I placed the rocks back on it. I am sure what I'll do with them later on.

Bonus update: I am quite happy to see how this little seedling cutting of a candletree is turning out. I don't have any prior experience with this species, so I don't know if its current growth habit it more genetics or the 5-2 foliar spray @cmeg1 recommends. Either way, it has lots of leaves coming out where ever it can.

Repotted some more trees yesterday. This wisteria that I found was almost completely rotted out once I started digging into it.

All of these are first time going into a bonsai pot.

Spring is on its way it seems for all of us.

I FINALLY did what I have postponed since May. Basement cleanup. Where there were just stacks of pots everywhere, I put up some shelves which I got in April when work moved buildings and got rid of a lot of furniture. Put them up, sorted out my pots and shelved them. Much easier to find a pot now. And less breakage risks without these stacks everywhere on the floor!

What do you use to stack pots? They look more stable than takeout chopsticks and classier than paint stirrers, both of which I’ve used.
