What is this small leaf variety? I have a small Nadezhda Hope lilac but the foliage is larger than I’d like.

Garbage-bin-trunk so no. Too many to choose from once you start digging!

The foliage reduces in size over time in pot & improved ramnifcation

Lovely, and I like the cuts and results created in the apex at top left of the tree. Tree responded nicely and healed over well it seems. Love the overall apex shape and composition you’ve created.

I love lilac's, awesome tree.
I still have one for you @Carol 83 Miss Kim dwarf. I feared the cutting was weak but it's fine now. Shoot me your address if you still want it. My MoMo from you survived winter well. Thanks again.

Fabulous work on the Lilac! Mighty fine indeed.

I think I’d be an oddball and reach for a pot of contrasting color. My first impression was a yellow or orange pot. The contrast with the flowers would be mighty fine.

However…I really do like the pot shown in this photo you posted. It can work very well with flowers and without flowers. I like the rough, rugged appearance which picks up characteristics of the tree leaves, trunk and branches. Superior choice you made.

You’ve done it now @leatherback … I enjoyed lilacs already and had a small one I was going to try to train as bonsai but wasn’t holding much hope, mostly I just enjoy the plant and visual and olfactory treat every spring.

Anyway…

You put me on the quest for one of these dwarf varieties that I had no idea existed but then lo and behold… what do I spy at the big box store!?!?

So I’m a whole $13 in on this. We’ll see where it goes

That’s some tiny leaves! Thanks for the inspiration Jelle, and again, that’s an awesome tree you have. I think I’m just a few years behind you. 😅😉
